Company Overview
Intermountain Gas is a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group, Inc., which is headquartered in Bismarck, ND. Intermountain has been in business as a natural gas distribution company since 1952. Our service area covers southern Idaho, extending 50,000 square miles, along the Snake River Basin where there is a population of approximately 900,000.
Natural gas is provided to approximately 365,000 customers in 74 communities in 23 counties through a system of over 10,000 miles of transmission, distribution and service lines. Large commercial and industrial customers account for approximately 45% of total therm send out with most of this usage concentrated in the potato processing, chemical, fertilizer and food processing industries.
We have offices in the principle population centers around the State, including Boise, Nampa, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls. We have a small district office in Hailey and satellite service offices in Soda Springs, Burley, Mountain Home and Payette.
