MidAmerican Geothermal, a subsidiary of MidAmerican Renewables, is a Calipatria, Calif.-based geothermal power producer. The company has a 50 percent interest in 10 geothermal facilities in California’s Imperial Valley that have the capacity to produce up to 327 megawatts. Its natural gas-fueled plants include a 537-megawatt plant in Illinois, a 37.5 percent interest in a 240-megawatt plant in New York, and a 50 percent interest in both a 212-megawatt plant in Texas and a 50-megawatt plant in Arizona.
