Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
We are seeking a Biosystems Research Assistant to join the Polymer and Coatings Research and Production team within the UGA New Materials Institute. The selected candidate will be a creative and self-starting research professional and will collaborate with other members of the team to develop and implement commercial biomaterial and bioprocessing applications. The candidate will possess a solid understanding of applied chemistry techniques and concepts. This position will involve significant hands-on laboratory and pilot scale work.

Professional will work with research and development team on experiments involving goal specific polymer synthesis including design strategies, processing methods, and synthesis manipulation and optimization.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Professional will work with research and development team on analytical and application-specific performance testing of polymers to evaluate parameters such as purity, compositional integrity, shelf life and environmental limits of use.
