Position Overview: The NDT Production Manager will provide leadership, develop talent and deploy business acumen in order to meet or exceed quality, on-time delivery and gross profit goals for the NDT Team.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

People: Create and lead a team of people who are cross trained, process focused and skilled to produce quality product that meets customer specifications. Create a culture of inclusion, respect, and accountability. Interacts with customers and suppliers.
Training: responsible for the training, examination and certification of NDT Level I, II, and II technicians in certified disciplines.
Quality: Provide the direction, training, and feedback to the team to ensure quality standards are met. Standards include customer requirements, ISO 9001, AS9100D and NADCAP, FAA. Provide direct support to customers when needed. Provide auditing support to quality department and customers.
Delivery: Drive innovation and process improvement to meet or exceed corporate goals/KPIs or customer requirements. Determine root cause for actions that fall short of KPIs and deploy counter measures to correct.
Technical Expertise: Responsible for establishing and approving techniques and procedures; interpreting codes, standards, specification, procedures, and customer specific requirements; and designating the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used. Assist with production, review, revision and correction of documentation including work orders, processing techniques, certifications and quotations.
Inventory: Provide feedback to purchasing team so that proper levels of coatings are maintained. Ensure proper rotation of products with expiration.
Gross Profit: Manage labor and materials to meet or exceed corporate goals. Process ROIs for capital expenditures. Maintain proper usage of equipment.
Process Improvement: Using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques – continuously improve large run processes. Document the savings in time and money. Improve year over year.
Finance and Budgets: Prepare and work to an approved department budget. Identify problem areas and deploy counter measures to mitigate. Prepare ROI paperwork for capital improvement projects including justification.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Works in production and office environments.
Occasional, long workdays necessary to fulfill job requirements.
30% sitting at a desk and using a computer; 20% stooping, bending or lifting; and 50% standing or walking.
Lift and transport an average weight of 15 lbs.
Manual dexterity of both hands.
Near Visual Acuity (either corrected or uncorrected).
Ability to hear and understand others, articulate verbal direction and instruction, give feedback to others and brainstorm with customers and engineers.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years’ experience with ASNT Level III certification for MT, PT, and RT methods or Level II with drive to secure Level III within 12 months of assignment.
Minimum of 10 years’ successful experience leading direct labor teams for the aerospace industry or job shop environment.
This position requires access to ITAR-controlled information and materials. The successful candidate must meet all ITAR eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. person as defined by ITAR.
Interactions: Regular contact and communications with supervisors of direct labor teams. Direct communication with labor force and Head of Operations and Quality. Also works with Customer Service personnel to problem solve on time delivery and product quality issues.
Reports To: The NDT Production Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
