- Multiple Tenure-Track Positions in Mechanical Engineering - UT Austin

The Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin seeks applicants for multiple tenure-track positions. Although candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor are preferred, applications from senior candidates will also be considered for the Advanced Manufacturing search. Candidates with expertise in the following research areas are of the most interest to the Department. (Candidates should view these areas of emphasis in the broadest sense in determining whether they match their research skills and interests.)
NUCLEAR ENGINEERING, with an emphasis on nuclear materials and nuclear robotics.
THERMAL-FLUID SCIENCE & ENGINEERING. Two positions are available in the following areas: (1) fluid mechanics and thermal sciences, with applications to electrical, optical, thermal, and mechanical components for information, energy, and biomedical technologies, and (2) experimental thermal-fluid science and engineering with particular interest in applications for power and propulsion systems.
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, with an emphasis on systems and processes including (but not limited to) smart manufacturing, multi-material manufacturing, and multi-scale manufacturing for functional devices.
Requirements
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree in Engineering or a related field prior to their start date. Successful candidates will be expected to create undergraduate and graduate learning environments that address the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds, with differing learning approaches and abilities, develop an externally sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
